Snow in the Mountains

Snow is beautiful most any day
Even when it's cloaked in gray
I prefer it in the mountains far away

For humans, snow causes such a fuss
Sometimes people even cuss
When shoveling is a must

When I look at the mountains near
I imagine antelope, elk, and deer
Who have nary a care or fear

Funny how looking out the window
Can make you love the snow
And prompt your imagination so

I was nominated for a blogging award and along the way, I was inspired to write the poem above. Now on with those pesky things called rules and how I fulfill them.

Rules:

  1. Thank the blogger(s) who nominated you and provide a link to their blog.

Thanks are now going out to Jim Webster at https://jandbvwebster.wordpress.com/ who nominated me. You might recall that I’ve helped Mr. Jim out on a few blog tours.

  1. Write a post to show your award.

That post is progressing, well don’t you think?

  1. Give a brief story of how your blog started.

I began this blog to journal my writing. Somehow, the writing stalled out but the blog post continued on. I suppose that’s a good indication that I need to slow down my social media interactions and write more.

However, if I had done that, then I wouldn’t be reading Take Off Your Pants by Libbie Hawker and learning how to get an outline done in order to get my book back on track.

I suppose finding balance is the key.

  1. Give two pieces of advice to new bloggers.

Write something that interests you and you believe will interest others. Find a central theme for your blog – my theme is books and authors.

Share other bloggers’ work from time to time when it relates to your theme.

  1. Select up to fifteen bloggers you want to give this award to.

Belinda Witzenhausen’s Boho and Books blog: https://bohoandbookish.wordpress.com/

John D. Ottini – Author: https://jdonovels.wordpress.com/

Sylvia McGrath via Professor Owl’s Book Corner: http://www.professorowlsbookcorner.com/

I interact with these blogs and bloggers on a somewhat regular basis. If you are into books (in some form or fashion), I imagine you’d like their blog posts as well.

  1. Comment (or pingback) on each blog to let them know that you’ve nominated them and provide a link to the post you’ve created.

I’ll work on letting them know that I’ve mentioned them here.

Thank you for stopping by today.
